Joy Buolamwini

Date of Birth: January 23, 1990

Major Academic Events: Not only is Joy a renowned Computer Science activist, but she was once a pole vaulter.
But as her aspiration in Computer Science grew stronger, she studied the subject strongly, being awarded a Master's
Degree at Oxford University, one at MIT, as well as a Bachelor's Degree at Georgia Institute of Technology.

Contributions to Computer Science: Known as a poet of code, she founded the Algorithmic Justice League.
This organization looks forward to building a world with more ethical and inclusive technology, especially regarding
AI and facial recognition technologies.

Ada Lovelace

Date of Birth: December 10, 1815

Date of Death: November 27, 1852

Major Academic Events: She was tutored from an early age until she got sick. At age 17 she met Charles Babbage and requested to study the blueprints for his machine. In 1841 she got advanced tutoring from Professor Augustus De Morgan of University College London and learned through correspondence with Mary Somerville.

Contributions to Computer Science: Created an elaborate set of notes that presented the first documented computer program

Mark Dean

Date of Birth: March 2, 1957

Major Academic Events: Mark received his undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee, his master's
at Florida Atlantic University, and his Ph.D. from Stanford

Contributions to Computer Science: He was the chief engineer of the team that developed the IBM PC. He also helped create the world's first one-gigahertz microchip, which allows computers to perform one billion calculations per second.
